Maybe I should try and update a bit more often. If only I had something worth posting...

Here's a recent illustration for Tähtivaeltaja, depicting Steph Swainston's character Comet Jant shira. In my opinion, Jant himself turned out okay, but I'm quite dissatisfied with the background. As is my custom, I ended up coloring this on the last night, working 'til early morning hours. So, in the end I was just too damn tired to go on, and decided that the picture will just have to do, and went to sleep.

I wanted to get to know Fourlands and Jant better before starting to draw, so I picked up Swainston's first three books (The Year of Our War, No Present Like Time and Modern Times) from the library, started reading, and got almost instantly hooked. Since this is not a literary blog, I'm not going to write reviews or give you any other kind of deep and meaningful analysis of these books. You can probably find those in the next issue of Tähtivaeltaja, anyway. I'll just say that Swainston's novels are not only best fantasy (which doesn't really require a lot), but best fiction I have read for a long time - go and read 'em!

Here is a picture I did for promoting a theatre piece for whole family. It is about Nallepossu ("Teddypig") and Kissakoira ("Catdog") - Kissakoira is afraid of christmas. The play will be performed by Koti-Teatteri in Turku.

How often do you get a chance to draw nazi-zombies and tell everyone it's part of your job? I did this for advertisement in Tähtivaeltaja -magazine.

At first I had an ambitious plan of updating both of my blogs at least once a week, but that's just not going to work. So, I'll try to update Sähköjänis (at least) once a week and Robot Rabbit (at least) once in a fortnight. From now on.  Let's see if I can make that happen...

This little thing I doodled up tonight after sauna. Original is a bit smaller - about 10 cm (4") high. I was kind of lazy with the coloring and didn't give it much thought since I was quite tired when doing it, but maybe I'll try something more interesting with it later... Maybe.

Yeah. That's about it for now. If you were wondering about the handsome gentleman accompanying me there, he's called Schopenhauer, he's a very disapproving rabbit and also a great alpha male. You can feast your eyes on him here. (Btw, since my english might be a bit rusty, any corrections on my grammar are welcome).
